French Ski Resort Health Measures
The France Montagnes infographic provides an easy to understand overview of the Health Measures / Protocols in place throughout the French ski resorts. Below is an outline of the Health framework applicable this winter to French ski resorts subject to the evolution of the health situation. Some establishments may apply a stricter framework.
French Resort access by Public transport
When travelling on Public Transport during your trip to France for your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Face masks are compulsory before boarding and while on board public transport
A Health Pass / Pass Sanitaire is required for air travel and inter-regional train and coach travel
Accommodation in French Resorts
When in Accommodation during your trip to France for your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Face masks are compulsory in communal spaces
Hand sanitising gel is available
All surfaces are regularly sanitised
Health Pass / Pass Sanitaire may be required at accommodation where there is a restaurant, fitness area or swimming pool
French Bars & Restaurants
When in Bars & Restaurants during your trip to France for your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Face masks are compulsory when moving around the space (at discretion of individual establishments or local prefect)
Hand sanitising gel is available
All surfaces are regularly sanitised
Health Pass / Pass Sanitaire is required
Resort Shops & Tourist Offices
When at Shops & Tourist Offices during your trip to France for your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Face masks are compulsory
Hand sanitising gel is available
All surfaces are regularly sanitised
Equipment Hire Shops in French Ski Resorts
When in an Equipment Hire Shop while in France on your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Face masks are compulsory
Hand sanitising gel is available
All hired equipment and surfaces are sanitised
French Cultural Venues (e.g. cinemas, museums)
When visiting a Cultural Venue when in France on your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Health Pass / Pass Sanitaire is required
Face masks are compulsory
Hand sanitising gel is available
On Ski Lifts
When on a Ski lift while in France for your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Face masks are compulsory while queuing and on certain ski lifts (at lift operator’s discretion)
Contact points are sanitised daily
Filter or washable masks are encouraged, to avoid disposable masks polluting the slopes

At Ski Schools for Ski & Snowboard Lessons
When at Ski & Snowboard Schools during your trip to France for your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Face masks are compulsory when indoors
Face masks are compulsory
for pre-lift gatherings
Hand sanitising gel is available
All surfaces are regularly sanitised
All loaned equipment is sanitised (e.g. bibs)
At Nightclubs and Late-night Bars in French Resorts
When at a nightclub or late-night bar while in France for your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter, the following Health Measures will apply:
Health Pass / Pass Sanitaire is required
Outdoors and on the Pistes in French Resorts
While Outdoors and on the Pistes in France during your Ski & Snowboard Holidays this winter:
Face masks are not compulsory for outdoor activities.
Winter sports (i.e. skiing, snowboarding and toboganning) are outdoor activities and the required equipment (helmet, gloves, goggles, skis and poles) naturally support social distancing.
