St. Anton Am Arlberg Overview

It’s cosmopolitan but traditional.

It’s an off-piste mecca but also offers access to family-friendly skiing.

The après ski is legendary.

No wonder St. Anton is labelled one of the best mountain resorts in the world.

Thanks to its massive alpine history, the Arlberg region is known as ‘the cradle of skiing’. St. Anton rocks that cradle, forming part of Austria’s largest linked ski area with 305km of pistes and 200km of easily accessible back country.

The resort is buzzy and picturesque, with direct rail access. It’s brimming with sports activities from winter via ferrata (for experts only) to curling and a wide range of climbing, freestyle and yoga activities at the Arl.rock, Arl.park and Arl.flow sports centres.

To be at the heart of the action, stay in the village centre and for quieter family holidays, opt for the Nasserein sector. Apres fans - don’t ski down the mountain without experiencing the fun at the Moosewirt, Krazy Kangaruh and a host of other restaurant/bars.

Skiing & Snowboarding in St. Anton Am Arlberg & Ski Arlberg Ski Area

St. Anton is a magnet for backcountry skiers, offering access to 200km of snow sure off-piste terrain. Access is even better now with the Schindlergratbahn cable car which gives skiers and boarders the option of choosing more expert high altitude routes (to 2,643m).

The season closes with the White Thrill race which sees hundreds of athletes ski nine kilometres of unprepared slopes. Intermediate and advanced skiers will enjoy the 85km Run of Fame ski circuit while families have access to many blue runs and nursery slopes in the Arlberg.
